I'm from Arizona and the president of Seattle University's Super Smash Bros. club. Also, I play the drums!
I started Hidaka Taiko in January 2017. Elias told me it would be fun. Also, I wanted an outlet for my drumming without bringing a whole kit here. What I love about Hidaka Taiko... Everyones' spirit feeds off of one another. That seems like bad phrasing but the idea is that when everyone gets hype as a unit, it's nuts. How do I feel about Hidaka Taiko this year? We have a huge group this year and I was a little worried about making sure everyone gets enough time on the drum to improve and have a good time at practice. Luckily, all of the new members have so much energy and love for taiko that even when they aren't playing, they are engaged and supporting their peers. I love being a part of a group that shares so much passion for their art and it's an honor to teach them and help them become better taiko players. As far as returning members, I'm incredibly proud of how hard they've worked this year. Even with 20~ new people to teach, they've put in the extra hours and dedicated so much of their lives to Hidaka. Thanks to their insane work ethic and determination, they have continued to make remarkable progress with pieces like Jack Bazaar and Dokokara. Updates on life... It's weird that this is my last year playing with Hidaka. I haven't really decided if I'm going to continue or not but either way, I will never forget what group has given me. Thanks for everything. |
PS... Jack Bazaar babyyyyy lets fucking GO
