I was born and raised in Seattle and I like to play Dungeons and Dragons
I started playing taiko and playing with Hidaka Taiko after I went to their showcase. I wanted to try it because everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives when they were performing. Taiko is also really far out of my comfort zone because it's all about being really loud and super energetic.
What I love about Hidaka Taiko... My favorite part about Hidaka is that we are all one big family and that we do more than just play taiko together. My first year at Seattle U wasn't very exciting because as a commuter student I didn't spent a lot of time on campus and I didn't really feel like I belonged anywhere. After joining Hidaka I really felt like I was not only the SU community, but also part of the coolest and most exciting community SU had to offer. When school or work starts to get really stressful, going to practice and hitting the drum with my favorite people always puts me in a better mood. Even though I have only been a part of Hidaka for a short time, I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet some of the most amazing people in the entire world that have inspired and motivated me to become the best version of myself. |
